Journey

I am going away for a while. When I started on this blog, I thought I would have many times and things to say on these times. But I have had no time. When I go away from August, I will have more time, and I will be keeping in touch with my friends this way. I am sad I have to go, but I cannot work here any much longer because it is killing me.

Personal

I am studying for MA now in local Ost-Asian university. It is funny to see so many Europeans here. It is even more funny to see so many Americans here. It is most funny to see so many Australians here. Some people might think it should be other way around, but I always find Australian people to be funny. What do you think?

On other note, I hear Alchemist got major cut of salary. Is sad, that. He is making gold into lead, I tell him. But he claims he is more happy now, is worth the cut of about USD400 a month. I calculate one year of that is worth USD6000 including bonus, I am very sorry for him. But he says he is earning more now, most of it not money, but peace of mind. In alchemistic style, he makes joke: "Haha peace of mind better than piece of eight." I am not amused. But I also watch 'Pirates of Caribbean', and then joke is clear, so I laugh, I am amused.

My personal idea is simple. I will work hard in Ost-Asia. There is no other place to make your skin so thick. The other day, a few months ago, Anonym teaches me a small word in Hokkien, is 'Työk Gán' or something like that. I am sad Alchemist has got this, which means basically someone stick a pipe up you, but really, he is not working as hard as he can. He can do many things, but he hates to work hard when he does not have to. I told him, even if you don't have to, you must, so that you can go on to better things and make other people work hard. He told me new Hokkien words.

But I am happy to have Hokkien personal friends who use Hokkien personal words.

I, Bjaerni

Ah, those who know me know who I am. I am a visitor to Ost-Asia and I teach at a prestigious school there. I have many students of many races and I am myself of mixed race, I am half Norwegian and mostly I am Danish. I am learning to speak and write English, which I am familiar with from time in USA, and to speak Hokkien, which is the main language of cunning Chinese people.
